Broccoli, sometimes called calabrese, though similar to sprouting broccoli produces a main central head which is cut and eaten. Once this is removed, smaller side shoots appear which are just as delicious and often labelled in supermarkets as broccoli spears. Corvet' is an F1 hybrid which has well-filled central heads followed by plenty of smaller shoots. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
